Workshop Dates: July 30 - August 2 // Workshop Location: Kazbegi, The Republic of Georgia
The Republic of Georgia
I fell in love with Georgia - the generous hospitality, the brooding landscapes, the quiet, grounded existence, and the crossroads of a culture humbly resting between the vibrancy of the middle east and the gothic, monochrome cities that define so much of Eastern European aesthetic. In several years, the world will wake to the beauty of this land and the goodness of its people, discovering something we knew existed all along. Join us there this summer in the mountains of the Kakheti Region and discover your creative vision, your purpose as an artist, and the techniques and tools necessary to execute classic, artful film photography and to grow your brand in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
The Ardor Workshop
I feel a great sense of satisfaction encouraging photographers, helping them find their unique voice, discover a deeper sense of purpose in their work, and trust their creative intuitions. Traditional classroom settings often times hinder the natural learning process, which is predicated on curiosity and enthusiasm. Because of that, I highly value the informal time between classes - the late night conversations around the fireplace, the vulnerability of taking risks together, trying new ideas, and the laughter shared over long meals. Expect to grow, not just as a photographer and creative, but also as a friend and peer. I believe deeply in the power of photography as a tool for empathy and as a unique medium for expressing the human condition. At the end of the day, however, nothing can substitute the empathy we feel in the moment, when we are standing next to each other, openly and honestly sharing and listening to each other’s stories. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and growing together this summer in the Republic of Georgia.
